For this project, I will be designing a lamp for one of my friends Darwin. He thinks that he doesn’t need a lamp because he has no problem with the lighting in his house. Although he doesn’t need a lamp, I still decided to interview him as my client. There are always problems around people, as people get used to those problems, it becomes hidden. As a designer, I will be looking for hidden problems during the interview and come up with solutions at the end of this project. I think this is going be a great project as if the final prototype/Solution changes his initial thoughts (and possibly make him can’t live without it)

Lamp Design

This is a lamp designed for my friend Darwin. After the interview, I discovered that he needs a lamp to light up his living room as it gets dark during the night. This lamp is designed to light up an open space instead of a spot. Different from a regular lamp, it lights up surroundings and reflects it's own light even further through mirrors. The lamp is energy efficient with the light sensor, so it only turns on during dark. A master switch is also included in case you need it during the day.

My client is happy with the final prototype as I have been asking for feedback throughout the project. To achieve my initial goal, I will need to make this lamp in the FabLab and have my client using it daily. I will make this lamp when I have the chance and hopefully have it reviewed by my client.
If there's any future improvement I would make, I would try to simplify the specification prototype more, mainly how the joints would be made.
