Half-Life is a PC based first-person shooting game that only supports single-player and was released in 1998 as a digital game revolutionary. Developed by the company Valve and was the greatest game back in the day. Valve continued to work on Half-Life after the success of their very first Half-Life game. More Half-Life games have been developed and released, Half-Life 2 was released in 2004 and Half-Life 2 episode two was released 2006. Each Half-Life games continues to extend their amazing storyline.
It has been over 15 years since a new Half-Life game release, till 2020, 03, 24 Half-Life: Alyx released. Half-Life: Alyx is a VR based game that was developed by a completely different design team in Valve. Valve designed a new game engine called Source 2 which was used to make Half-Life: Alyx. This game has been one of the best VR games on the market, in my opinion. The plot was set between Half-Life and Half-Life 2.
The game mechanic was amazingly smooth. The details and the game physics are just incredible, you can interact with almost everything even a roll of toilet paper or broken glasses. It gives me about 10 hours of playtime from start to end at normal difficulty. The control of this game is fabulous, no lag, no crouching, interact with everything smoothly, you can see the developers spends tons of work on everything, you can feel the countless times of trial and error from the developers. The game is challenging and it feels real as you get dragged into the situation like in real life.
Although it has been over 15 years since the last Half-Life game, Valve didn't make it into a completely different game. The game designers: Greg Coomer and Jason Mitchell designed this game up to the Half-Life reputation which is extremely high. They continue to use the original characters/entities/Props, but with incredible details. Half-Life: Alyx has become my favorite VR game design and had inspired me about the possibilities of VR design. I can't wait for future release from Valve such as Half-Life 3.
